Danny Van Quaethem - Senior Analyst and Fund Manager of Econopolis

Danny Van Quaethem (1961) has a master’s degree in Germanic Philology (English-German) at RU Gent. Early on, he took an interest in the economy, the markets and companies. He is a certified financial analyst (ABAF) and wrote for investment magazines for ten years. In 1997 he started at Société Générale Private Banking Belgium as a financial analyst covering equity markets, focusing on pharmaceuticals, chemicals and consumer goods. Danny joined Econopolis Wealth Management in November 2018 as a senior equity analyst and fund manager.

He is still passionate about financial markets, but his biggest thrill is discovering great companies. Idealism is good, but a business model that works is better. Profits and free cash flow may be far from the daily musings of the science world, but they make the world go round. Investments are needed in order to realize a scientific dream. A business should be sustainable, in every sense of the word.
